Q6.
Do you have an average recovery rate that we can expect?
This
depends on the number of accounts placed, the average dollar amount,
the age and if they are a second placement. We have a very high
recovery rate with our clients. We have collected money for our
clients that other agencies could not. Feel free to contact us
for references from our clients.
Q7.
Do you purchase the debts outright from us or do you charge a percentage
of the debt collected?
A percentage
of the debt collected. No charge if nothing is collected.
Q8.
What happens once an account is placed with your agency?
Once
you place the account with us, we send an initial collection letter
to the debtor letting them know the account has been placed with
us. We advise them whom the creditor is (you) and how much is
owed. By law we must also let them know they have 30 days to dispute
the debt or request verification. We wait a few days to let them
receive the letter and respond and then we begin to call. We send
out letters and continue calling during the 30 days. We do not
call every day. We do not harass the debtor. We will call a work
number if we are not able to reach them at home. After the 30-day
period we can then demand full payment and report the debt to
credit bureau. If there has been no response, we send a demand
letter and a notice that the debt will be reported. Phone calls
and letters become more frequent at this point and evening and
weekend calls are also made.
Q9.
Do you have any requirements for us?
One
of the most important things we ask from our clients is that you
report to us if a debtor pays you directly. It is illegal for us
to try to continue to collect once they have paid. We have Direct
Pay Forms that you can fill out and fax to us to let us know a debtor
has paid or you can call our office. Also, once you place an account
with us, you must stop all in-house collection activity. Do not
send out monthly statements or continue to add interest.
